The name of the film that was chosen to be analyzed and researched is called The Godfather. This was one of the very first installments to be created in The Godfather trilogy film series that was directed both by Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo. Puzo is the man who wrote the 1969 novel that the film was named and inspired by. The film was also produced by Albert S. Ruddy. This wonderful classic story is widely recognized as the highest-grossing film released in 1972 and regarded as the greatest, most influential film in the gangster genre. The Godfather tells the classic story of the Corleone family under the patriarch, Don Vito Corleone and the chronicles of his youngest son Michael Corleone, a former Marine Captain who fought in World War II and returns home and at first is not interested in the family business but shortly after numerous tragedies fall upon his family that leaves him with no choice but to join in. The film kicks off with Don Vito listening to requests at his daughters’ wedding from his fellow guests. Virgil Sollozzo, a drug baron asks Vito for protection and financial assistance in his heroin business but Vito refuses because he believes that his political influence would be jeopardized by a move into the narcotics trade. With suspicious beliefs, Vito then sends his top enforcer Luca Brasi to spy on Solozzo and Bruno Tattaglia
