1.1. After learning a language, learners should be able to do the following:
- Obtain specific language skills that are needed for learning the prescribed
curriculum.
- Write, speak, listen and read with the language with self-assurance and
pleasure. Learners will retain these skills for the rest of their lives.
- Using the language in a suitable manner and taking factors such as purpose,
audience and context into consideration.
- Convey and explain their own ideas by writing or explaining orally. In order for
these learners to become self-sufficient, they must be able to express
themselves and their emotions in a mature and confident way.
- Utilize the language to explore the world and their inner beings. In this way,
learners will build on the skills to communicate their feelings and findings in a
sufficient way.
- Make use of the language to learn specific topics that are prescribed within
the curriculum and be able to manage the information that they obtain on a
daily basis.
- Use the language to think in an evaluative and creative way, so that they are
free to formulate and express their own opinions about their values and
ethical concerns. Learners should be encouraged to challenge certain
perspectives of texts that they read, and they should not only read for
research or to study, but also for enjoyment.

1.2.1. - Recognize and resolve problems by making decisions based on evaluative and
creative thinking.
- Be able to work productively in both individual and group work.
- Be responsible in managing themselves and their activities.
- Gather, analyse, arrange and critically judge information.
- Be able to use language in various different ways in order to communicate
effectively.
- Using technology and science in such a way that they still show responsibility
and respect towards other people’s health as well as the environment.

o Novel writer (fiction) – they can write in the language for pleasure.
o Poet – they can write in the language for pleasure.

- Convey and explain their own ideas by writing or explaining orally. In
order for these learners to become self-sufficient, they must be able to
express themselves and their emotions in a mature and confident way.
Occupations associated:
o Business analyst – Be able to explain things in orally and in words.
o Marketer – Be able to express their own ideas orally and in writing.

- Utilize the language to explore the world and their inner beings. In this
way, learners will build on the skills to communicate their feelings and
findings in a sufficient way.
Occupations associated:
o Blogger – they will be able to write about their own experiences and
feelings.
o Travel journalist – Write pieces about the world and what they found
when exploring.

- Make use of the language to learn specific topics that are prescribed
within the curriculum and be able to manage the information that they
obtain on a daily basis.
