Introduction
Every day is different and exciting, and each day offers challenges and opportunities for
personal growth and advancement. A typical day in a medical office might include helping
schedule an appointment for an anxious patient, building rapport with a younger patient
who is afraid to tell the doctor about their medical concerns.
~ Remember that everything seen, heard or read about patient is
confidential and should not leave the office
● Position of administrative medical assistant requires medical knowledge,
organizational and business skills, and the ability to meet accepted
performance standards of health care workers
Patient Navigator - Connects patients with resources and guides them
through the health care system so that timely care is provided
Sensitivity to others ~ It’s important to be sensitive to a patients
feelings~pretending that feelings do not exist does not serve the patient’s
best interest
Administrative Law - governs the activities of government agencies such
as the internal revenue service,medicare and medicaid.
