22. Distinguish between negative feedback and positive feedback.
Negative feedback reverses a change in condition to bring the variable back to its
normal range (e.g., body temperature regulation). Positive feedback amplifies or
enhances a change, pushing the variable further from its starting point (e.g.,
childbirth contractions).


23. Give an example of negative feedback in the body.
When blood pressure rises, baroreceptors detect the increase and send signals to
the brain, which then sends signals to the heart and blood vessels to decrease
heart rate and dilate blood vessels, lowering blood pressure back to normal.
