# Term Definition
1 Aquired Immunity Immunity that is developed over a person
lifetime.
2 Acute Infection An infection of short duration, that is often
severe.
3 Anaphylaxis Extreme hypersensitivity to a substance that can
lead to shock and life threatening respiratory
collapse.
4 Aritificially acquired Immunity Immunity that results from a vaccine.
5 Blood borne disease Disease such as HBV, HCV, or HIV infection that is
caused by microorganisms such as viruses or
bacteria that are carried in blood.
6 Chain of Infection Conditions that all must be present for infection
to occur.
7 Chronic Infection An infection of long duration
