Chapter 2: Integers
What are integers?: The collection of whole numbers and negative
numbers.
Addition and subtraction of integers:
Steps:
1. Identify your LIKE TERMS (your negative and positive numbers)
2. Place them in the correct order
3. Solve both your negative and positive sums
4. Simplify
Multiplication of integers:
steps:
1. signs first - X-=+
2. multiply your numbers
+X+=+
3. if there are any letters involved,
add their exponents +X-=-
DO NOT use arrows as this is -X+=-
just normal multiplication and
not multiplication with
brackets!!
, Division of integers:

1. use BODMAS
2. Do signs, numbers and then letters
3. When dividing with letters (if there are any), you
subtract the exponents
Squares and cubes of integers:
2 =( )( )
3=( )( )( )
This is what you do when you get a number squared of
cubed in brackets then just carry on with the sum as per
normal!
