MOS Characterizations
Introduction:
- The goal for this experiment is to understand how MOSFET work. Analyzing the
current and voltage characteristics as well. In addition to MOSFET characteristics,
we will learn of the effects of NMOS application. For this experiment a MOS device
will be used along with the ADK to perform the objectives for each section. A
handheld multimeter will be used to record drain voltages and drain current.
Finally, Excel will be used to create the slopes for each experimental data collected.

Course of Action:
Section 4.1:
Course of Action:
1. using the given lab materials for this section a physical circuit is built
2. Gate voltage is set at 0V and increased by 0.5 V until it reaches 5V using the ADK
waveform generator.
3. The multimeter is used to measure the drain current for each increment.
4. a plot is created for the square root of the drain current and gate voltage. Some points
are excluded from the graphs to get the best linear fit. A slope was found when generating
the trendline.
5. The transconductance parameter using equation kn= (slope ^2) *2
6. The threshold voltage using the equation: ID= kn (Vgs -Vt)^2 /2
