Introduction

A smart home network is a home network which has smart devices
connected to each other.

This can be used for automation of home devices for example auto-shutter
blades of a window which close at night or at very bright shining sunlight.
Also another option is that smart home devices can be used for security
reasons for example installing security cameras in the driveway. Another
possibility is smart doors and a smart locking system for example doors
which you can open with your fingertips or with retina-scanner and faceID.
Main key-aspect of implementing these new technology features is that
sensitive data (like personal / retina data) is encrypted and protected
against unauthorized use. So as in today’s time – mainly keys are used for
e.g. opening doors, and keycards (with rfid chips) are used for opening
doors, it would be a nice feature in a smart home to have a keyless access
to your home when using keyless technologies.

How to build a smart home network

For building a smart home you need smart devices. Internet of Things (IoT)
devices are physical objects that are connected through internet.

They can connect motors, sensors or other applications with a central hub
to a network and then to the internet.

It could be Smart Speakers, Smart Thermostats, Smart Lighting or Smart
Locks. Therefore they could play music, measure temperature, let light
shine or lock door and open doors. In a smart home environment they
could add together to a smart system, with automated tasks. Therefore
they can be programmed and have automated schedules. This could help
to improve the ease of living in a home.



IoT devices can collect data. IoT devices can collect all kinds of data. For example, they can
gather environmental data such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and noise levels.
Additionally, they can be used for health monitoring, such as with wearable health devices
that track vital signs.
