This essay explores the relationship between nationalism the relationship between nationalism and international order. It argues that ethnocultural identities, affiliations and obligations arising under nationalism retain their democratic value. Nevertheless, the principles or morality and justice should not be confined to the borders of nation-states and require world-wide institutionalization.
