Suffolk County Community College School of Nursing NUR 240 Dosage Calculation Assessment Questions w/ Answers The DCA exam is constructed in a format that you have seen in your other nursing courses: it is a 10-question exam with each question constructed as a word problem. You will be given 30 minutes to complete the exam, and calculators will be available for your use. Remember Joint Commission requirements regarding trailing zeros and leading zeros with decimal calculations. Students should review related readings/calculations in the Henke dosage calculation text, all ATI pharmacology/calculation resources, and the attached practice math questions in preparation for the assessment. All content covered in prior courses, except for pediatric calculations, are source questions for the exam and include IV calculations, conversions and weight-adjusted dosing for oral and parenteral routes. You will also need to accurately interpret medication labels. All answers must be rounded to the appropriate decimal place for parenteral doses: <1mL round final answer to the nearest hundredth decimal place; >1mL round final answer to the nearest tenth decimal place. If the calculation is for an infusion pump, remember that the infusion pump can be programmed to the tenths. Academic Integrity Statement I have not cheated on this exam. Academic integrity requires individuals to:  Tell the truth  Be accountable  Refuse to collude in lying or cheating behaviors with others  Be accountable for the known actions of others (duty to report)  Consistently abide by this honor code in all circumstances; no exceptions  Use of any electronic device during an exam is prohibited. Only calculators provided by the School of Nursing may be used during an exam. Wearable technology, including but not limited to electronic ear plugs and smartwatches, are to be placed in backpacks and/or placed on desktop and cannot be accessed.  Any deviation from this policy will be interpreted as cheating. Cheating results in a zero on this exam and an academic dismissal process will be initiated. I understand and agree to comply with the testing policy of the School of Nursing (see Student Handbook). I feel mentally and physically well enough to take the exam.
