oharmvauts
-completely new place to me and don't know anyone - challenge self and grow my
confidence & independence
- link music venues ie motorpoint arena - large interest of mine and I've been passionate
about life music since I was little, regular concerts at home to see local artists etc
- parks

What are the main qualities required of a pharmacist? (3) - correct
answers..COMMUNICATION: with people of a variety of culture and backgrounds
- firstly w MDT eg in clinical she worked with midwife's, physiotherapists, doctors, and
more - built through my role as a waitress
-also have to explain vital info to patients ie doseages, how to take and side effects, as
well as being a good listener in order to give dehqare advice eg smoking cessation, this
importance is growing as the role becomes more patient centred and holistic , would
say I've built my effective delivery of info through teaching first aud in the CCF to 12-14
year olds
-need to adapt communication too eg to younger children who may be worried about
vaccines

,EMPATHY
- work w many increasingly vulnerable people who may be anxious and need
reassurance to refuel optimum quakity if care, eg saw a nurse practitioner speak with a
patient with dementia to evaluate her meds etc, link how he took a warm, patient and
calming response which inspired me greatly

Where do you see your career in pharmacy going? - correct answers..- so many
elements of pharmacy which I find incredibly endearing, and with the growing of holistic
and patient centred role, I'm incredibly looking forward to my career, unsure fully but
would love to exoeirnve many elements of the career and keep learning and evolving as
a pharmacist
- in community work edoeirnve loved hiw patient focused and how pharmacist would
see patients throughout their whole lives, link new services making more exciting
- also love the idea of hospital where can lease with other other healthcare
professionals amd consult patients about their meds, link to how would love to
specialise and further learn potentially on oncology or anti microbial
- finally I'm a curious individual who loves to learn and through reading about upcoming
research such as epigeneguc medicines and pharmacogenomics I'd love to do some
global research and contribute to the global pharmacy community - link challenges of
vaccines in developing and warmer countries ie costs and maintaining cool chain
impossible, struggles of MenAfriVac development

Tell me about a time you failed - correct answers..I like to view these occurences as
learning opportunities as opposed to failures;
- good d of e we had an issue with the 12 hour day due to online mapping issues, there
were some severe struggles mentally and I let it get to me more than I would've liked to
have done, looking back I wish I was there focusing on overcoming the issue at hand
and focusing more on the overall goal than letting myself get overwhelmed by the
situation

, -however, we made light of the situation and took it upon ourselves when we got back to
reroute a more effective plan and woke up extremely early the next day to make sure
we were in time
- firm this, I've learned that where I experience problems in my life rather than getting
stressed about the situation at hand it's a better approach to consider what can be done
in this situation to make it better, and this is something I would say has become a much
larger part of my mindset since, being a valuable lesson I will take with me into my
career as a pharmacist

What is your biggest weakness? - correct answers..I've had to work on public speaking
in my time, as sometimes I can be too anxious to present in front of a large group of
people

However I know that I may be given opportunities to present as a pharmacist eg if I
entered academia or industrial pharmacy I may be able to present findings of
pharmaceutical research

Have built in this skill set in my role as a CCF sergeant where I independently plans and
deliver lessons every week on the St John's ambulance first aid curriculum, which has
provided me with much better confidence spewkimg in front of people and I can now
effectively deliver information with much more confidence

Look forward to building throughout my career

consequence
Utilitarianism - greater impact on wider variety of people, link nhs resources and funding
