Insights gained from Law & Ethics 2 course.
By taking the Law and Ethics 2 course, I have had the chance to learn about
different topics. firstly, understanding Company Law provided valuable
insights into the legal framework that governs businesses. It helped me
understand business creation, structure, and operations. I learned about
corporate governance and shareholder rights, which is essential since I aim
to start my own business.
Furthermore, I learned about contracts and their formation, interpretation,
and enforcement. This point is essential when discussing businesses since it
protects rights and interests, ensures agreements, and establishes
beneficial relationships with business partners. Learning this topic and
comparing It to the business idea developed for Dragon’s Den project was
interesting.
My favourite topic learned in the course was Intellectual Property (IP) rights.
The course taught me and allowed me to learn by researching IP protection
and management, which is essential when creating a new product, service,
or business. Since the business idea developed for Dragon’s Den was a
completely new idea not before created, this topic cached my attention
instantly. We must learn about IP rights to protect our business and
understand and respect other businesses.
Finally, studying ethical dilemmas helped me develop ethical awareness and
analytical thinking. This allows me to make morally responsible decisions
not only when it comes to business but also daily that align with legal
requirements and ethical principles.
The topics learned during the Law & Ethics 2 course might benefit me in the
future:
Legal compliance and risk control: Understanding company and
contract law can help guarantee that my business complies with the
law. It will also allow me to efficiently detect, resolve, or avoid
potential legal issues.
Effective contract drafting: Understanding contract law will allow me
to negotiate, build, and identify fair contracts for all parties involved.
This could also help to foster trust and minimize the risk of future
disagreements.
Intellectual property protection: by the knowledge gained regarding
intellectual property laws, I will be able to protect my company’s
ideas, giving it a competitive advantage.
Ethical decision-making: The focus on ethical dilemmas has helped
me with the skills to make moral decisions.
