Sorry it didn't help as much as mentioned different institutions do it differently. Ensuring you follow what your school follows as science will be science information will be same no matter what. Information is same, but practicals done can be similar or different from your insitiution.

U15A3 D: Examine the uses of transducers, sensors, and other measurement devices

P5: Describe the basic principles of operation of transducers, sensors, and electrical
measurement device

The passive transducer is when it requires the external power source for the operation. Because
by producing the signal of the form of the variation for the resistance, parameter, and
capacitance. As such that by getting it converted to the current/voltage.

This is a device that convert the non-electrical energy into the electrical energy by the external force

LDR the resistor works on the principle of the photo conductivity when the light tends to fall on the
surface on that is the material of conductivity that tends to reduce and for the electrons in the valence
band of the device that tends to be excited to the conduction band. For this reason, these are the
photons in the incident light that must have the energy that is greater than that of the band gap of the
semiconductor material. As such this makes the electron then for it to jump from the valence band to
the conduction. For that reason, the devices tend to depend on the light where the light tend to fall on
the LDR then for the resistance decreases and for the increases in the dark. As such that the LDR is
kept in the dark place its resistance is high and for that the LDR is kept and in the light for its
resistance will decrease. Also, for the constant V is then applied to the LDR for the intensity of the
light that is increased and for the current increasing. Devices that change the electrical characteristics
within a circuit by the influence of the external physical factors (sensors). For example light-
dependent resistor (LDR) and their practical uses, thermistors, reed switch, strain gauge and
Wheatstone bridge arrangement, and by the potential divider circuits. The use of light meters, in
automatic cameras, and the alarm systems for it.
(Electronicsnotes, 2022).

Thermistor (negative and positive temperature coefficient)
The thermistor is that will define type of the resistor of that the electrical resistance that tend to vary
with the changes in temperature. For that the resistors’ resistance will fluctuate slightly with the
temperature for that the thermistor that tends to be sensitive to temperature the changes for this. That
the thermistors that act as passive component in the circuit and that is accurate, cheap, and for this
tends to be robust with the way to measure the temperature. Also, the thermistors don’t tend in
extremely hot or cold temperature that the sensor that is used for the different applications. For the
thermistor that is ideal that in precise temperature reading that tends to be required. This detects
when there is change in temperature and when converting into changing for the resistance.
There converting for the physical signal into foe there is the electrical output signal. Then there
is for the resistor where there is the electrical resistance changing with the temperature.
Because the resistance that of all the resistors to then change with the temperature but occurs
with a sensitive. This is illustrated by the potential divider circuit for this. Where the fire
alarms, car oil temperature, and there is the digital thermometer. (4U, 2022).

Reed switch
This is where the switching mechanism that tends to be comprised of that is the two ferromagnetic
blades that tends to be separated by the few microns. Then that the magnet approaches these blades,
and for that the two blade that tend to pull toward one another. As such by touching the blades that
tend to be close to these open contacts and for this allows the electricity to then flow. Some of the
reed switches that tends to contain the non-ferromagnetic contact. This then forms the closed output
and for that approaching magnet this will then disconnect for the contact and pull away from the
switching contact. Also, for this the contacts that tends to be constructed from the materials that tend
to have the tungsten and for that is the rhodium. And the varieties that tend to use mercury that will be
kept in proper orientation to switch correctly. And for that the glass envelope filled with the inert gas
that is the nitrogen that seals the contacts at the internal pressure that is under of the atmosphere. As

such this will then seal the contacts this will then prevent the corrosion and of that this will then spark
as this will result from the contact movement (Arrow, 2018).

Strain gauge using Wheatstone bridge and potential divider arrangement
The Wheatstone bridge is the diamond shaped circuit that is developed by the Charles Wheatstone
that is used accurately to measure the unknown resistance values or that is of the calibration
measurement instruments, voltmeters, ammeters, and this is by using the variable resistance and that
is useful for the comparison of the unknown resistance that is of the resistance to then determine the
value and this then allows the resistance range to then be measured. And for this that the Wheatstone
bridge circuit can be used in the number of the applications with the modern operational amplifiers
that can be used in for the Wheatstone bridge circuit for the various transducers and sensors to the
amplifier circuit. The Wheatstone bridge circuit nothing than the two simple series-parallel resistances
that tends to be connected between the voltage supply terminal and ground that tends to produce the
zero-voltage difference between the two parallel branches that has been balanced. The Wheatstone
bridge circuit that tends to have two input terminals and that of the two output terminals consisting of
the four resistors that tends to be configured in the familiar diamond. And for the potential divider that
for the circuit tends to take the larger voltage and that divides it down by the fixed ratio that is
accorded to the electronic components to the small output voltage (ElectronicsTutorials, 2022). There
is the monitoring wing flexure on the planes then for the stress on the train rails and for that
medical equipment. Because when there is the 4 resistors for there is the constant voltage and
there is the voltage gauge. Then for this will show the four resistances and then the 4 resistor
will have the bridge to be balanced. That resistance for there is the strain gauge changing then
the voltage that will be bridge. Moreover, the changing for there is the resistance of the strain
gauges that will be measured of the Wheatstone bridge. Then there will be determined for the
changing for there is the resistance. And that bridges that are balanced when the voltage then
there is middle zero. And there is the strain gauge that will have thin wires that will then be
attached to metal. Because the structure flexes will be under the load for this for the strain
gauge changes. Moreover, resistance of that wire can be monitored and when there is a change
it will be used to then be assessed for the strain structure. Also, when it convert for the
mechanical strain into the electrical output signal for this such like two voltage dividers for that
will be parallel. Moreover, the bridge such will be a difference in potential difference because
there two voltage dividers.

An active transducer that converts the quantity of a non-electrical to electrical is known as an active
transducer. As such that the best instances of the nonelectrical amounts are that of temperature,
pressure, and light. Such that the various types of the active transducers based on the quantity of the
non-electrical, such that doesn’t need extra source and for that its not as complicated and for that the
resolution is at its lowest and for this is best illustrated by the PV cells, tachogenerator, and
thermocouple. For that its self-generating type of transducer that tends to produce the electrical
voltage or that of the current output without the utilizing any of the external power source for this.
And that the transducers tend to draw the energy demanded that for the operation from the measuring
system and for that the active transducers that tends to be generated tends to be quite small
(Technews, 2022).

Thermocouple transducer
This is transducer producing that the o/p voltage for the equivalent change in that of the temperature
at the input. For this that the different metal wires that tend to be connected in order to make two
connections. As thermocouple is described for that is the thermal junction that operation based on the
thermoelectric effect. For that the temperature difference is converted directly to an electric voltage
and that the thermocouple in the electrical device for the measurement of the temperature. Also, for
this is the measured for the different ranges of temperature and for that tends to be for the
uncomplication, economical, and robust. Used in miscellaneous industrial applications, homes,
commercial, and office. Moreover, that the applications designed configurations of thermocouples
that tend to be available that tend to have the thermocouple probes, that with the connectors, and that
