Laptop A way for students to work from home. The students will need a laptop for them to be able to complete work and keep in
contact with their peers. Without a laptop, students would have no way to access and compete work, upload work to their
peers and contact them to ask questions.
Camera In online calls, the teacher can see the pupil. The students will need a camera to let their class see them and can have eye
contact with members of the class. If they don’t have a camera, it would be very difficult for the teacher to see if the pupils
are working and paying attention.
Microphone In online calls, the teacher can hear the pupil. The students will need a microphone to be able to speak to other pupils and
lecturers in real time to them. If they don’t have a microphone, communication between pupils and teachers would be slow
because they would have to type to each other.
Router Can access the internet. The students will need a router in order to have access to the services that the college provide. If
students didn’t have a router, they wouldn’t be able to access the internet which would stop them from talking with lecturers,
uploading work and researching a topic.

Data Protection Act 1998 The students will need to be aware of the Data protection act so they can ensure that their information doesn’t get stolen.
Without the students being aware of this, they could access information that they’re not allowed to see and get into trouble
for it.
Computer Misuse Act 1990 The students will need to be aware of the Computer Misuse act so they know how to use a computer properly without getting
into trouble. If the students aren’t aware of this, they could misuse the computer and get into trouble.
