For the part of Professor Baesens, the questions are approximately spread as follows across the
chapters:
- Chapter 1, 3 or 4 questions,
- Chapters 5 and 6, approx. 6 questions for each.
For the part of Professor Snoeck, the questions are approximately spread as follows across the
chapters:
- Chapter 2, approx. 4 questions:
o 3 theory questions (Business Value of IT, technology acceptance models, Enterprise
Architecture)
o 1 exercise on Zachman where you have to position a statement in the right row.
- Chapter 3, approx. 4 questions:
o one theory question
o 3 BPMN exercises gauging your knowledge of
gateways (split/merge, and/xOR, iOR, event-based)
events (intermediate boundary vs. in-line, interrupting vs. non-interrupting,
different types of end events, ...),
pools, lanes and messages
multi-instance tasks, send versus receive

- Chapter 4, approx. 7 questions:
o 3 UML exercises focusing on the ability to read a chain of binary associations,
possibly including inheritance and aggregation, a ternary association.
o 1 or 2 exercises on Logical Data Modelling focusing on understanding a relational
model and the correspondence between a UML class diagram and a relational model
o 1 or 2 SQL exercises, gauging your understanding of different types of joins, the
GROUP BY, HAVING and WHERE clauses.
o 1 question on Practical Skills focusing on your ability to understand the capabilities of
Excel in comparison to databases (SQL), and/or your ability to read and interpret a
description of an Excel function.
The exam copy will contain a formularium as on the following pages and a couple of scrap papers you
can use for calculations.
