These documents comprise 10 weeks (20 lectures) worth of class notes. The first week begins by talking about eurocentrism versus orientalism. The notes discuss culture and life and modern day issues of the middle east as well as how the middle east developed throughout history and came to be what they are now, from dynasties, empires, to nation-states.

This lecture dives into 4th century Europe and the Orient, looking at the two major reigning powers of the time: the Eastern Roman Empire and the Persian Empire. For in the midst of these two warring nations, a prophet rose to fame in what would be a revolution that'd leave the world forever changed.
