Lecture notes for Spectroscopy of Biomolecules (G0O58a) from the Schakeljaar Biochemie en Biotechnologie program at KU Leuven, taught by Lowie Boels. The document covers foundational topics including electromagnetic spectra, atomic spectroscopy, energy levels in atoms, wave mechanics, molecular orbitals, chromophores, and the particle-in-a-box model applied to organic molecules. Ideal for mastering core spectroscopy concepts and preparing for exams in the biochemistry specialization track.

These lecture notes cover Bioinformatica (Bio-informatica) for the Schakelprogramma Biochemie en Biotechnologie at KU Leuven, taught by Lowie Boels in 2025/2026. The document covers five core modules: datastorage and history of bioinformatics, protein structure from sequence to function, sequence databases and FASTA format, protein structure determination methods (X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, cryo-EM), and the Protein Data Bank (PDB). Well-organized with clear module divisions and pr...
