Branches of Psychology
General Psychology
General psychology studies the basic mental processes such as learning, memory,
perception, and thinking, and serves as the foundation for all other branches of
psychology.

Developmental Psychology
Developmental psychology focuses on how individuals grow and change physically,
emotionally, socially, and cognitively from infancy to old age.

Covers prenatal to late adulthood
Includes theories by Piaget, Erikson, Kohlberg
Social Psychology
Social psychology examines how an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are
influenced by the presence and actions of other people in society.
Studies attitude formation, prejudice, stereotyping
Experiments: Milgram (obedience), Asch (conformity)
