A survey of Tunisians showed an increase in pessimistic attitudes towards
the electoral process. More than half of the population intend to vote in the
upcoming elections. However, the number of people who think that voting gives
them some control over how the government manages matters has dropped slightly
since last year.
A vast majority from all age groups believe that there should be more young
people represented in politics. Most of the citizens say that they are likely to elect
a candidate aged 35 or younger but unfortunately it seems that only a quarter of
Tunisian women are planning to participate.
