There are a few steps to a coordinated and collaborative approach. They are: - ANS- Follow
your organization's policies and proceedures

Body Language - ANSThe postures, gestures, facial expressions, and movements used to
communicate.
Touch communication is an ANSA method of expressing one's feelings or emotions through
physical contact. Consider Saftey From The Perspective of: - ANS-Keeping yourself safe
-Keeping the individual in crisis safe
-Keeping others around them safe
Delivering - ANS-Respect the dignity of the person.
- Reasonably separate -Deliver the facts.
-Offer something.
-Pay attention and respond with compassion. -Bring closure.
Demonstrating Consistency With Communication - ANS- Listen to understand
-Remain flexible
-Make the conversation private if possible
-Allow the person time to process
-Don't get pulled into a power struggle
ANS-Summarize the conversation through documentation. -Note observations.
-Objectively assess your performance.

perceptions, and remaining control will increase likelihood of successful intervention
Intimidation - ANSThe individual is verbally and/ or nonverbally threatening staff in some
manner.
Intervention:
-Take all threats seriously
-Seek assistance. Wait for colleagues to arrive

"Juan, you're shouting. Please speak quietly".
