Question 1:
Explain to Ntuthuko how important setting goals is for his livestock business.
(10)
Hi Ntuthuko,
Setting goals is like creating a clear road map for your business journey. Without goals,
it's like driving with no destination—you might be moving, but you don’t know where
you’re going or if you’re making progress.
In your business, Livestock Wealth, you’ve already made amazing progress by starting
with just 26 cows and growing to over 2,000 cattle and many different farming options
like macadamia trees and smart vegetable gardens. But for you to grow even further
and manage all these new products and partnerships, setting goals becomes even
more important.
Goals help you to:
Stay focused: With so many projects happening at once, clear goals help you
and your team focus on what matters most.
Track progress: For example, when you said you wanted to expand into
growing vegetables and macadamia trees, having goals helped you measure
whether that expansion was successful or not.
Motivate your team: When everyone knows what they’re working towards, they
are more likely to stay motivated.
Plan better: With clear goals, it’s easier to plan your budget, marketing, and
partnerships—like the one you have with Woolworths.
Make smart decisions: Goals help you decide what to invest in, and when. For
example, should you open more smart gardens or increase the number of cattle?
