Organising an event is a long and complex process, therefore,there are different
types of planning tools that can help us through this process. Some of the planning
tools are:
● Gantt charts.
● Critical path analysis.

Online Planning Tools
Online planning tools are one type of planning tool that can be used when organising
an event, some examples of online planning tools available are Eventbrite, Doodle,
and social media such as Facebook events.
Eventbrite is a global platform for live experiences that allows anyone to create,
share, find and attend events. From music festivals, marathons, conferences,
community rallies and fundraisers, to gaming competitions and air guitar contests.
Their mission is to bring the world together through live experiences. It is worth
mentioning that the company powered 3.9M events in 2018. Doodle is a Swiss
online calendar tool for time management, and coordinating meetings. Users are
asked to determine the best time and date to meet. The organiser then chooses the
time that suits everyone and the meeting is booked in their calendar. Administrators
receive email alerts for votes and comments and registration is needed to have this
feature.
The last online planning tool is Facebook events, which is a calendar-based
resource that is used to notify users of upcoming occasions. Events can be created
by anyone, and can be open to anyone or private. The creator is able to invite his
friends, members of a group, or fans of a page.
Facebook events are an efficient way to spread the word on upcoming events or
occasions since they are able to reach thousands of people in a short amount of
time.
