body language, intonation… (it should be a daily state of mind)

himself, it just is what it is. Every time he tried to delude himself, her words set him
straight. She thought him the need to stand out. (jack became famous because of
his aggressive management style)
Getting out of the pile (SFTG)
Trusting on my gut, following my own ideas. (don’t be like the rest)
Most people want to be guided by somebody else, you need to go your own way.
In your job also, especially when you start your job in a bigger organization, you need
to get out of the pile to be noticed by the supervisors (in a good way)
Up or out: a long time ago they would take 100 candidates with the same degree, if
you wouldn’t make yourself being noticed, they would move you out. (companies like
Deloitte still think like this)
How do you get noticed: going the extra mile, do more than what’s expected, think
bigger than the question asked + your soft skills
Acceptance = quality of the decision * the way you bring it across
X (value)
Y (job performance)

from reality.

work again.
A successful career: is a career without too many accidents.
The right job for you starts with self-knowledge. Knowing what you want and
need/strengths
Getting promoted (Winning)
A new job should feel like a stretch, not like a layup. (if you must jump all the time to
meet what’s expected from you, it will kill you one day)
The power of a positive surprise: over delivery
Hard spots (Winning)
A boss who is acting like a jerk towards you:
Think about your own performance, a boss who is a jerk towards you probably
doesn’t respect you.
Work-life balance (Winning)
Work-life balance is a personal perception. It is important to climb the corporate
ladder but also share your time with your family/partner.
Your boss’s top priority is competence, he wants to see you healthy, but he also
wants to get the max out of you and the others.
The key word is ‘if’, if you deliver good performance, your boss will give attention to
your work-life.
‘Work life balance is your own problem to solve’ it’s a deal that you’ve made with
yourself about what you keep and what you give up, there will always be sacrifices.
What this CEO thing is all about (SFTG)

instructions.
