Higher Education Is Important: An Argumentative Essay
The United States of America has always valued higher education, which explains why enrolment in colleges has been rising every year. For the longest time, the government has focused on ensuring a 100% transitional process so that every post-secondary student in the country gets to undertake higher education. This is because education has been linked to greater benefits for the nation as an educated nation is a prosperous nation. As much as education is a necessary need in the country, there are many challenges attributed to its pursuit and outcome. President Obama once proposed making higher education free, a proposal that sparked an aggressive debate nationwide. The issue continues to be a matter of debate even after his era. Legislators and even the citizens debate the pros and cons of higher education. The publicly acknowledged articles "Issues in higher education" and "College Costs" by Alan Greenblatt and Lorna Collier, respectively, further divided people. One group argues that higher education is important, and the other argues that college education is unimportant. I believe in education, and I view it as a tool for success and that’s why I believe addressing this topic is vital. In light of this, I chose to defend high education, arguing that it is important.
