The members of the group have never been involved in substance abuse. The group merely serves as a preventative mechanism. Nonjabulo decides to approach the group’s facilitator and asks him if Matome can enrol in the group. The facilitator agrees, and Nonjabulo manages to convince Matome to join the group. The next day Nonjabulo takes Matome to the group so that he can begin with the process of rehabilitation. However, the difference in age and maturity between Matome and the other group members poses a big challenge. Matome is 45 years old and has been married for 15 years while all the other members are 15 to 23 years old.
