Medicalc is an advanced, comprehensive medical calculation system that performs automatic and integrated computations of clinical formulas, equations and scores that are commonly used in the medical practice. Authors MediCalc application was created by board certified physicians for physicians, residents, medical students, physician assistant and nurse practitioners. (Scymed,2020). Endorsement There is a lack of evidence supporting whether or not the application is licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), any other government agency, medical professional organization, or any other academic institution. The Scymed website does emphasize MediCalc is an application purely for hospitals and clinical settings. Operation MediCalc is a free application that can be accessed on line, web app, I-phones and Androids. According to Cymed, the application is linked to the most reliable dynamic tables for visually efficient point of care decision support. It features more than 1,000 calculator panels and offers full printing capabilities. It is also intuitive, user friendly and very easy to use. (Scymed, 2020). Aesthetics MediCalc opens with a list of systems that are separated into separate categories such as renal, cardiology, pulmonary, ect. Each category is then broken down into a wide-range of available medical calculators based on patients provided information in that system.
