THEO 104 APPLICATION ESSAY THEO 104 APPLICATION ESSAY Rapture and Tribulation Introduction: Christians believe there will be an end-time resulting in the return of Christ. This is a belief based on faith and trust. It is a feeling/conviction of the heart and soul. The return of Christ will bring about the Rapture. There is no time line for this glorious event, we must be prepared because, "no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, or the Son himself, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36 NIV). A period of catastrophic upheaval will herald the beginning of the Rapture. Devastation of all forms will literally turn the world inside out. At this time Christ will call his faithful followers to him, believers will be gathered and protected in His loving arms. They will be caught up together and rise to the clouds to meet the Lord, and will be with Him forever. Non-believers will be left on earth to suffer through the tribulation. But Christ, with His infinite capacity for forgiveness will still allow the non-believers to repent, and earn a place by His side. As a Christian I believe there will be a time of rapture for believers, and a time of tribulation for lost souls. Rapture Theological Definition: In theological terms, the Rapture is the return of the Lord and how it relates to the divine order of things. Theology is the study of the word of God, the Bible, and what we can expect by studying the Bible. For this reason, to have a better understanding we must study the Bible slowly, in depth, and in order from front to back. We need to try and get the whole picture.
