Purpose of websites
The purpose of websites is to share information to people on around the world, so the information
that other people learn can be pass to other person using websites, also to allow big business like
amazon, eBay and other e-commerce businesses to sell their products, also to reach and answer
their customer’s concerns and question, also to reach their target audiences. Another purpose of
websites is to entertainment people around the world by showcasing entertaining information to
their visitors. One of the entertaining websites is YouTube, as they stored and showcase video that
being post by other people around the world. Another purpose of websites is for social media. The
purpose of having website of social media is to make it easier for people to share and connect with
friends and family even they are far each other. One of the social media websites is Facebook, as
they allow people to post content like videos and images, which allows people see it depending if
they are friend with the user who post content in the Facebook.
Chosen 2 websites
The two websites I chosen is NBA Official Website and Currys PC World website. The reason behind
why I chose these two websites because first website is about basketball and I love to play
basketball so I used this website to watch basketball games and to check the scoreboard and stats of
my favourite team and players. Also, it allows me to read news about what’s happening in the
league and community of basketball. Also, I love their products that they sell in their website
especially they allow buy a customer jersey with your name on in the back. The second website is
about selling appliances, technologies, home & outdoor. The reason why I chose this website as my
second to compare because I’m interesting to what they sell, especially they sell computers, laptops
and other technologies, also I’m interesting about their services, as I want to know how they
recycling old and no longer used technology in their store. Also, I find it interesting how good their
customer service when it reaches about customer’s concern and queries about their products they
sell.
Content-Based (Web 2.0 Technology)
Web 2.0 technologies is a second generation of internet technologies. It makes it easier to create
online applications to act variability, just like a PC-based software. Also, it includes wiki, blogs, image
and video sharing sites, hosting service and other more. Here are some of the examples of web 2.0,
Facebook, twitter, YouTube and Flickr. They are all related to web 2.0 technologies, which makes it
an easier solution to communicate to anyone and to modify the information to either group of
people or much wider audience for a greater population over the websites. The website that I chose
is a sport and trading websites, as these two websites meet the Web 2.0 Technologies that I listed in
the top. The Flickr isn’t really popular as use to be before, but Flickr is common website where
people can share photos and providing service with an advance and well-built feature. These also
support an active and dedicated community where people can share photos and examine each
other’s images.

The product and usage are depending on the connection of the nature, purpose and target
audience, as website is strongly focusing about what products and services will be published on the
website, people who build websites for their companies have to make sure that their websites is
relevant and accurate to the target audiences and purposes. In additional, some well-known brands
like Amazon and Apple store have clear digital approach, which means they will be designing a
websites for each different countries to identify the existence and the other websites include each of
their main products in particular country.
There are lot examples that carries a variety of products and services for sale that will meet the
needs and intend of the audience. Every product that they publish in their websites and price will
change whenever they have an offer or deals available. One of the examples, Amazon or Apple store
as they are both ecommerce websites. Other websites like YouTube and Netflix are one of the
examples of entertainment websites, as the product and services are media-specific to bring contain
to a specific target audience.

These 2 websites that I chose, meet to its purpose of websites, because NBA Official website share
information about the game, player/team stats, news, scoreboard and other information that is
relevant to the sport and aside of that they sell products to their customers, which that meet the
purpose of their website. Also, in Currys PC World website it meets the purpose of website because
they sell their product to customers using their website, also they used their website to reach out
and answer their customer’s queries, so it will easier for them to communication to their customers,
which it meets to the purpose of their website. Also, even both websites isn’t an social media like
sharing images and videos, but both website meets the content-based (Web 2.0 Technologies)
because both websites can allow people to interact and to collaborate each other, even though you
can’t share images and videos to other people in the website except of commenting on their website
comment section.
Also, both websites meets to product and/ or service-based because both websites publish images
about their products just to showcase and sell to their customers, but the different between the two
website is NBA Official Website is a sports website and it’s very well-known anywhere in countries
who supports basketball teams in America, so they have design a website for different countries to
identify the existence of it, it also include each of their product for each different countries of their
