Bulto, L. N. (2024). The role of nurse‐led telehealth interventions in bridging healthcare gaps
and expanding access. Nursing Open, 11(1). https://doi.org/10.1002/nop2.2092
Bulto (2024) explores how telehealth interventions run by nurses expand their importance
in meeting other vulnerable zones in health services. Evidence is given to support that nursing
can develop relationships with patients from afar, through the use of telehealth tools which
involve remote surveillance with video meetings for ongoing treatment delivery. The
interventions have managed the chronic diseases and made the healthcare expenses and hospital
admissions decline because they are prompt care and delivered instructions at a distant place.
Healthcare personnel can engage patients directly in their care journey through nurse led
telehealth models that makes for superior clinical outcomes.
The findings within this research demonstrate that nurses performing telehealth
interventions are vital to equalizing healthcare access throughout various population groups.
Newer technology of modern healthcare uses modern means to extend the media of nurse care in
exceptional circumstances when fundamental in-person services cannot be delivered. The article
reports on the necessity of advanced skills of the nurse in respect to telehealth systems and
security concerns of population level data storage and digital aptitudes of some patient groups.
To further realize telehealth’s potential, its integration needs to be improved, given its
challenges, to reach more patients.
Bulto’s (2024) research findings, which are quite similar to the needs of contemporary
healthcare facilities during the period of telehealth implementation, are presented in the research.
Now, health care institutions, together with policymakers, have a framework through which they
can build nurse-led telehealth initiatives requiring appropriate technological framework and
