Reaction scheme o
transition meta
complex (present by
power point
Unit 13C
,• In this study, we explored the reactions of
distinct transition metal complex ions: Iron
(II), Chromium, Copper (II), Aluminum (III),
and Cobalt (II). Through careful observatio
of color transitions and the emergence of
precipitates, this experiment provided
valuable insights into the impact of ligand
exchange, chelation, and variations in
oxidation states on the stability and struct
configuration of coordination complexes.
, • Method
• Start by testing individual samples of each
solution you've selected to learn more ab
the intriguing reactions of transition meta
ions.
- Add 2M sodium hydroxide little by little u
there is more than is required.
- Gradually add 2M ammonium hydroxide
until the desired amount is reached.
- Add 1.5M sodium carbonate solution litt
by little till the excess is reached.
Carefully provide strong ammonia solutio
until an excess is reached.
Apply concentrated hydrochloric acid
gradually, dropwise, until it is too high.
Through these processes, the unique feat
and actions of transition metals will be
revealed in a remarkable demonstration o
chemistry in action!
