Charter Schools: A different education experience.
When it comes to education parents always want to make sure they are picking the right
school that best suits their child. In recent years charter schools have become more known
around the world. Charter schools are private or government-funded under the terms of a charter
with local or national authority. They are very diverse schools offering education to families of
low income or low poverty levels. Charter schools are designed to give children and parents the
ability to have an alternative to public schools Gchcb, P., & Owens, S. (2019). Unlike public
schools, charter schools have a different approach to learning and educating children. The goal is
to provide children with educational opportunities they would not normally get due to cost.
Charter schools are a better option for children because they have free tuition, diverse
classrooms, and offer better education outcomes.
Funding
First and foremost, when the topic comes up funding is always a top subject. So how are
they funded? Charter schools are authorized by the government under state law and receive their
funding from governmental sources, although they also have private donors. (Burrows, et al
2019). They use tax dollars provided by the government and have fewer rules and regulations
than public schools. The schools can be started by teachers, parents, non-profit organizations, or
even the government. When the community gets involved, it helps bring the unity of the school
together, potentially making it more successful. Most of these schools sit within a community
with the largest population of children that they will serve directly.
