Community Project Proposal Introduction Research done in London in 2019 on food shortage showed that about 400,000 children experience food shortage. That totals to 17% of the total children’s population; 16% of their parents do not have sufficient financial resources to provide a healthy diet, and the cost of food is expected to rise ("Food insecurity in London - Mayors Fund for London," 2021). Among the children’s population is the students at St Wilfrid catholic school in London. Although the school prides itself on giving every student an equal opportunity at life and education. However, these goals may be hard to achieve if the students do not get a healthy and sufficient diet. My project implements sustainable food cultivation at St Wilfrid's school making use of unused space to cultivate enough food to feed the school’s population using hydroponics farming technology.
