Psychology Experiments The Halo Effect Experiment According to Fescoe (2016), the experiment details are as follows: The Halo effect is a perceptive prejudice where one's impression impacts how others feel and think about their personality and character. It is also known as the physical attractiveness stereotype, where people assume that what is beautiful is good. This effect affects people's perception based on others' attractiveness and other traits such as kindness or sociability. People with these traits are seen as more intelligent or likable. Attractiveness stereotype is also a double-edged sword since other research shows that, although people attribute good-looking people with positive traits, they may also consider them as vain and likely to use their attractiveness to manipulate others. The Halo effect states that perceptions of one character lead to biased opinions of other traits.
