GoodRx is a free online-based company that opened 2011 to help Americans afford their
prescription medications by allowing them to comparison shop via web or mobile app for a
lower price.
Author(s)
GoodRx’s team of developers and advisors all come from many different backgrounds
that include health care, technology, data scientists, and economists. Established in 2011, Doug
Hirsch, Scott Marlette, and Trevor Bezdek are the principal founders of GoodRx. Doug Hirsch
and Scott Marlette were both executives at Facebook before founding GoodRx. Trevor Bezdek is
an entrepreneur who created one of the largest information technology (IT) companies in
California. GoodRx’s team of advisors includes physicians with different backgrounds in
medicine, pharmacists, and experts in public health.
Endorsement
Thousands of pharmacies and hospitals across the United States accept GoodRx.
Hospitals, pharmacies, medical offices, including veterinary and dental, help endorse GoodRx
through advertisement, referrals, and coupon redemptions. Furthermore, drug information is
provided by Truven Health Micromedix, a well-respected drug information database, and clinical
decision support product. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not endorse GoodRx.
However, the GoodRx team does rely on information released by the FDA regarding drug
information, recalls, or any other latest news that pertains to over the counter or prescription
medications.
