Trends in the Healthcare Industry
Given the global climate in healthcare a few important trends are emerging. The
healthcare industry has always been focused on quality care, but until now it has never been so
accessible. Telehealth has become the norm, and it is now being reimbursed by big payers
(Mallow & Davis, 2020). Along with home healthcare, digital wearables are connecting
providers with their patients in unprecedented ways. These modern practices are proving to be
imperative for healthcare organizations to stay relevant with the rise of consumerism and the
ability for patients to “shop” for their medical services.
