This question paper consists of eight (8) pages and one annexure (pp 9–10).
Examination rules and instructions:
1. The use of The Invigilator app is compulsory in this examination. Please scan the embedded QR code on the
examination paper download page or in the header of this examination paper once you start with the examination.
2. You must upload your answer script as a single PDF file (the answer script may not be password- protected or
uploaded as a “read-only” file). The university marks only one submission received from a student. Priority is
granted to scripts received via the myExams platform.
3. NO e-mailed scripts will or can be accepted.
4. You are advised to preview your submission (answer script) to check if it is legible and to make sure that the correct
file has been uploaded.
5. You are permitted to resubmit your answer script up to three times and only during the official examination time.
6. If you have not used the invigilation tool during the examination, you will be deemed to have transgressed Unisa’s
examination rules and will have your marks withheld. If you are found to have been outside The Invigilator app for
a total of 10 minutes or more during your examination session, you will be considered to have violated Unisa's
examination rules and your marks will be withheld.
7. An assessment that is invigilated by The Invigilator app requires a student to activate the QR code. The QR code is
available for activation 15 minutes before the start time of the examination and 30 minutes after the official start
time of the examination. If you fail to activate the QR code within these 45 minutes, you will be deemed not to have
used the invigilation tool and will have your final marks withheld.
8. Listening to audio (music) is strictly prohibited during the examination. Making use of audio-to-text software is
also strictly prohibited during the examination session unless the use of such software is related to a student’s
assistive device, which has been so declared. If you fail to adhere to the audio restrictions, you will be deemed to
have transgressed Unisa’s examination rules and, your marks will be withheld.
, 9. You will have 30 minutes to submit your answer script on myExams after the official examination time. If you
experience technical difficulties, you should report them to the Student Communication Service Centre (SCSC)
telephonically on 080 000 1870 (choose option 4 for exams) or the College of Agriculture and Environmental
Sciences (CAES) exam support centre on or 011 471 3691 within 30 minutes. Queries
received more than 30 minutes after the official examination time will not be responded to. Only communication
received from your myLife e-mail account will be considered.
10. References are not required in this examination, but if any plagiarism or direct copying and pasting of information
is detected, you will receive ZERO marks for the relevant question(s) and you may be reported for plagiarism.
Direct copying from the study material for the module is also considered plagiarism.
11. Non-adherence to the procedure of uploading the examination answer script will not qualify you for any special
concessions or future assessments.
12. Difficulties that are beyond Unisa’s control include the following:
a. Personal network or service provider issues
b. Load-shedding
c. Limited space on your personal computer
d. A crashed computer
e. A non-functioning mobile camera or web camera
f. A work computer that block access to the myExams site (employer firewall challenges)
g. Unlicensed software (e.g., licence expires during the exams)
