I decided to collect my data from a secondary scholar in
Bloemfontein where I had seen a social media post from a school
congratulating the participant on her performance in both
national and international colours. I therefore, decided that she
would be a very suitable candidate for my research. I have
obtained my athlete’s information from her school on my visit. I
had explained to the school that I am a fourth year Psychology
Honours student, and that I am doing research for my Sport
Psychology module. I made contact with my participant and we
had scheduled our first meeting. We had arranged to schedule
our interviewing sessions for four consecutive weeks. I
interviewed my athlete by using the following questions. As she
responded I listen actively, made notes and recordered her
