2.1 Reflection on Formative Assessment
Formative assessment has been one of the most powerful tools in shaping my
learning experience throughout this module. It provided me with the opportunity to
reflect on my understanding of key concepts and to monitor my progress as I
developed as a researcher. Instead of focusing solely on final results, formative
assessment allowed me to engage with the process of learning itself. Each activity,
discussion, and feedback session guided me to evaluate how effectively I was
grasping the material and how I could improve. This continuous feedback loop
helped me identify knowledge gaps early, refine my analytical approach, and
enhance my problem-solving abilities. Through formative assessment, I learned that
education is not merely about memorising content but about cultivating a deep,
critical understanding of concepts that can be applied in real-world situations. I also
realised the value of constructive criticism—it encouraged me to re-examine my work
