Auto Damage Appraisal
Penalties - Answer-Anyone who violates provisions of this act is guilty of misdemeanor + fine of $500 or
imprisonment for up to one year; or both.
Suspension period - Answer-will not exceed 12 months
Expiration - Answer-expires annually at midnight on June 30th
Compliance with act - Answer-Appraiser must leave legible copy of appraisal with repair shop.this
appraisal must contain the name of the insurance company ordering it, the insurance file number, the
appraisers liscence number, and proper I.D of vehicle being inspected ( 4 things) All old or unrelated
damage should be noted on the appraisal; itemized listing of all damage specifying parts which must be
replaced or repaired.
Safety - Answer-Drive train, Steering gear, Suspension units, Brake system. ( 4)
Standard for Appraisal - Answer-1.) $ amount
2.) Costs ^ appraised amount may be responsibility of owner
3.)Statement: No requirement to use specified repair shop
4.) Statement: Repair shops are available through insurer, but no force.
5.) Description of repairs, known at time of appraisal, to return vehicle to pre-damaged state. Labor,
Cost, Painting, Sublet work. (4)
6.)Incidental charges: towing, protective care, depreciation, battery, tire replacment.
7.) Sales tax
8.) Date of insurers non-responsability
