, QUESTION 1 (2 ANSWERS PROVIDED)

The current curriculum does not fully meet the needs of all learners because it is still
designed in a one-size-fits-all manner. Many students who face challenges such as
short attention span, reading and writing difficulties, poor coordination, or trouble with
abstract thinking are disadvantaged. For example, learners with dyslexia often
struggle when the curriculum relies heavily on reading and written assessments
without alternative methods of showing understanding. Similarly, children with ADHD
who have limited concentration find it hard to cope with long lessons and standard
tests, which favour learners with strong focus and memory. Learners who experience
difficulty with abstract concepts, such as those in mathematics, are further excluded
when the curriculum does not provide enough concrete, practical learning
approaches. On the other hand, students who are quick readers, strong writers, or
naturally good at abstract thinking tend to benefit more because the curriculum is
structured around their strengths. This means that while some learners succeed in
the system, many others are left behind because their unique learning needs are not
accommodated. A curriculum that is more flexible, with differentiated teaching
strategies, practical examples, and alternative assessments, would better support all
learners and create a more inclusive education system.

The current curriculum does not cater equally to the needs of all learners because it
assumes that every child learns in the same way and at the same pace. Learners
with learning barriers such as dyslexia, ADHD, or difficulties with abstract thinking
often struggle because the curriculum is designed around uniform outcomes and
heavy reliance on reading, writing, and mathematics. For example, a learner with a
short attention span may not cope with long teacher-centred lessons, while those
who can focus for extended periods benefit more. Similarly, children who struggle
with reading comprehension are disadvantaged when most assessments depend on
written tasks, but those with strong literacy skills perform well. Another weakness is
that the curriculum places value on neat handwriting and speed in written tasks,
which excludes learners with poor coordination or motor difficulties, whereas
learners with strong fine motor skills are advantaged. These examples show that the
