1.1 Briefly explain what the passage is about in your own words

The passage describes a first-year law student, Roberto, who feels
intense pressure to do well because his mother and grandparents
sacrificed for his education. Aware that his past school performance
was not outstanding, Roberto asks a classmate, Tarachand, to read
and give feedback on his first assignment to improve his chances.
Tarachand reads the work and discovers several serious problems:
the writing is overly informal and emotional (it even uses slang), it
lacks credible and objective evidence, and it wanders off the task by
making unnecessary personal judgments. Because most of her
observations are negative, she is anxious about how to deliver the
feedback without upsetting Roberto; she wants to be honest but is
unsure how to give criticism in a kind, constructive way.
