Two key psychological factors that likely influenced the employee’s decision to resign
are:
1. Perceived Lack of Supervisory Support
When employees feel undervalued or ignored by their immediate supervisors, it
significantly affects their motivation, engagement, and emotional well-being.
Supervisory support involves both instrumental (task-related) and emotional
(relationship-based) assistance. According to Eisenberger et al. (2020),
employees who perceive low levels of support from their supervisors are more
likely to feel disconnected from the organisation and show stronger intentions to
