Health, illness, and healing are universal experiences, yet the
ways in which societies understand and manage these
experiences are deeply embedded in cultural, political, and
historical contexts. Medical anthropology, or the anthropology
of health, plays a critical role in exploring these complexities by
analysing both Western and Indigenous health systems.
