ASSESSMENT 2
1.1 What is classroom management, and what should its primary aim be?
(2)
Classroom management means the way a teacher organizes and controls the
classroom so that teaching and learning can happen smoothly. It includes
setting rules, arranging the classroom, planning activities, and making sure
students behave in a respectful way. Good classroom management helps to
prevent problems and makes sure that lessons run without interruptions
(Evertson & Weinstein, 2013).
The main aim of classroom management is to create a safe, positive, and
focused learning environment where students can learn and teachers can
teach. It is about reducing bad behaviour, increasing student participation, and
making sure every learner feels respected and ready to learn (Marzano, 2003).

1.2 Why is classroom management critical to effective teaching and learning?
(2)
Classroom management is important because it helps create a safe and
organized space where students can learn. When the classroom is calm and
students know what is expected, they can focus better and learn more. It also
helps the teacher teach without too many disruptions.
1.3 Discuss two approaches to classroom management that teachers use to
encourage positive behaviour.
