Description of the Activity:
The teacher begins with a brainstorming session on bees. Learners share their
experiences with honey and bees in small groups. The teacher then shows a
short 2-minute video clip on the life of bees. This activates schema and provides
context. Learners are then asked to predict what a poem titled "Honey" might be
about. These predictions are noted on the board.
This activity is relevant because it introduces the theme of the poem and
emotionally engages learners before reading. It links the learners' world to the
poem’s world, making the lesson meaningful.
