,Theme 3 – Juvenile Misconduct (Delinquency)

Learning objectives:
To identify causes of juvenile misconduct.
To identify at risk factors that may lead to juvenile
misconduct
To apply risk factors (Biopsychosocial) as a means to
explain delinquent and criminal behaviour.
To understand Biopsychosocial risk factors that contribute
to juvenile sexual offences.
, Theme Outline
This theme will focus on juvenile misconduct and delinquency, it will explore
the Biopsychosocial perspectives that may result in juvenile delinquency
and provide an understanding of how specific biological, psychological and
social factors may contribute to juvenile delinquency or misconduct.
Furthermore this theme will then show how these specific factors that
contribute to juvenile delinquency, specifically to juvenile sex offences such
as, rape.
Thus providing students with the ability to engage with the fundamentals of
the Biopsychosocial perspectives as well as being able to apply them to
complex crimes.
