The shoulder
The shoulder joint is known as the glenohumeral joint – ball & socket joint – shallow
socket and is unstable
The pectoral girdle = clavicle + scapula
Serves to attach upper limb to the trunk & provide attachment sites for muscles
that move the upper limb
It is an incomplete girdle – it does not fully encircle the body
