1.2 Why is classroom management critical to effective teaching and learning? (2)
Effective classroom management minimizes disruptions and maximizes instructional
time, enabling meaningful learning experiences. It supports the development of respect,
responsibility, and student engagement (Marzano & Marzano, 2003).
1.3 Discuss two approaches to classroom management that teachers use to
encourage positive behavior. (2)
Proactive strategies: Prevent misbehavior through routines, expectations, and
clear rules (Emmer & Evertson, 2016).
Supportive strategies: Reinforce positive behavior using praise,
encouragement, and recognition (Charles, 2011).
1.4 Classroom management can be challenging for teachers due to various
factors. Discuss two of these factors and provide solutions for them. (4)
Diverse learning needs: Students differ in learning styles and behavior.
Solution: Use differentiated instruction and build inclusive practices (Tomlinson,
2014).
Lack of parental support: Poor home-school communication can impact learner
behavior.
Solution: Engage parents via regular communication and involvement initiatives
(Hornby, 2011).
