 To educate learners about the purpose of frame structures,
 Learners must be able to define structures.
 The aim is to educate learners about structural members in frame structure.
 Learners must demonstrate how to make a structure.
1.3 Content that is applicable. (5)
 Define frame structures.
 Purpose of structural members (components) in wood and steel roof trusses.
 King posts and queen posts, Struts, ties and Rafters.
1.4 Learner’s activities. (5)
 Listen to the teacher and write notes.
 Ask and answer questions from the teacher.
 Work in groups to demonstrate how to make a structural member.

2.1 Discuss two kinds of media resources which a teacher can utilize in the presentation of a
lesson. (SDTECSY pg 65) (10)
I. Publications,
 Printed resources are viewed as primary resources for educators
 Examples are textbooks, newspaper, magazines and periodicals.
II. Products,
 These are used to enhance teaching and learning.
 Examples are posters, models, charts, subject related videos, maps and photographs.
III. People,
 This may involve experts coming to the classroom or even sitting with the educator to help plan
activities,
 In case they cannot come to the classroom a video of them and their activities may be used.
 Examples are experts in the field, civil engineers, colleagues’ parents or local community
members who can bring learning to the classroom.
IV. Places,
 Site visits (e.g. to building sites, industry, construction, buildings, existing structures, major civil
works) can be way of making learning relevant to real life.
 Multimedia may be used in cases where it is impossible to visit the sites.
V. Electronic media,
 Electronic media such as the internet and CD-ROMs may be used to great effect in addressing
the assessment standards of the different learning outcomes in subject.
