Ideologies- socialism

, To what extent do socialists agree on the role of the state

Evolutionary socialist, some form of commitment to democracy and peaceful means of
getting towards a socialist state, Webb argued for a parliamentary road after the
working class got the right to vote they would vote for socialist parties such as the
Labour party Evolutionary socialists reject state sanctioned violence and for the most
part accept the state whereas R socialists would also oppose this violence,Luxemburg
argued that the russian revolution damaged Marxs name and create not a dictatorship of
the proletariat he envisioned but a small group of elite who dominated the population

socialists believe that the state can be utilised for good and can be used to bring about a
socialist society, through gradual reform overtime using the institutions of the state,
Webb argued that with the help of a vanguard elite, trained technocrats and support
from the w/c we can create a society that is for everyone and you can get socialism
through state measures overtime, this shows a clear disagreement as E believes you need
the state but R disagrees

Social dem and fundamentalists both critique capitalism, they believe that if left
unchecked it can lead to harmful consequences and deep inequality, however a
